THE INMARSAT ISATPHONE PRO

A satellite phone is an essential piece of equipment onboard any superyacht – and experts in satellite communication equipment, Global Telesat Communications is pleased to announce the solution - the first global handheld satellite phone from Inmarsat – the IsatPhone Pro. The IsatPhone Pro will perform anywhere in the world, with the exception of the Poles, supported by Inmarsat’s global network coverage.

Crew calling for onboard staff has never been easier as there is only the need for one handset, and each crew member can obtain their own individual SIM card that they can physically put into the IsatPhone Pro whenever they wish to make a call. Global Telesat Communications offer great plans for SIM card users and can be contacted around the clock for top-ups and assistance, making it easy for superyacht crew wherever in the world they may be.

There are three post-paid airtime contracts available: the Standard Plan, the Allowance 20 and Allowance 60. The Allowance Plans come with inclusive minutes to use, whereas the Standard Plan is billed depending on usage. None of the contracts have activation fees, and the Standard Plan and Allowance 20 Plan have no minimum contract duration, making them unique within the satellite phone market.

A simpler alternative for many users may be the pre-paid option, where airtime units can be purchased advance and the units stay active for an impressive two years from the chosen date of activation. This compares favourably to other satellite networks that require more regular top ups with un-used airtime becoming void. Pre-paid call charges on the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro start as low as £0.60 per minute – compared to prices of over £2.00 a few years ago.

The compact handheld IsatPhone Pro would be great in emergency situations as it would handily fit in a grab bag and still provide excellent communication. Superyacht crew can be safe in the knowledge that years of comprehensive research, development and testing has resulted in a handheld satellite phone that works in any conditions from rain storms to searing heat or sub-zero temperatures. Being miles from nowhere is not a problem either as the battery life is the longest in the market (up to 8 hours talk time and 100 hours standby). Other features include voicemail, text and GPS location data, and in 2011, additional email, data and fax services will be available.

The IsatPhone Pro and the various airtime contracts are available now from Global Telesat Communications at the most competitive prices around, made all the more attractive with a one year warranty. Being a Bronze Inmarsat partner, Global Telesat Communications is endorsed as a quality provider of Inmarsat products, and provide around the clock customer service wherever in the world they are needed.
